Generated while in contact with Imperial bioweapon Project I71A, the Blackwing kyber crystal radiates a miasma of death and misery that causes the user to crave flesh. A collection of these crystals was found in a quarantine zone on the planet Dathomir guarded by a necrotic rancor, infected with the Blackwing virus. A lone kyber specimen was extracted from the planet and added to the collection, to be kept quarantined from the rest of the galaxy.
